beyond metal

I just started listening to this band about a month ago, and I cannot stop. This album is nearly flawless. The opening owns, thrashing into one of my favs a thosand deaths. sick drumming from start to finish with maniacal guitars and disgusting throat screams with death lows. Once in a while you will hear some clean singing here and there, not too much, but when they do it is done well. The strong point is not just the shredding they do with the instruments... ALL THE SONGS ARE SICK!!! Pangaea for instance is so frickn heavy but with the catchiest clean singing chorus, and I usually can't stand clean singing in deathy stuff. You need to hear the title track blacken the sun to witness what I believe to be the new sound of metal. Just owns other new metal bands out there. listen to sins n needles, revelations, blacken the sun, a thousand deaths, and hollow if you want to break stuff. The rest you need to listen to immediately following that.

Heavy hitting in your face pure metal!

This album is definitely worth every penny you will spend. There's not a dull moment. The intro (Dusk) has such a raging buildup that blows straight into a face melting 1000 Deaths. The outro (Dawn) may seem like a bit of a tear jerker, but the mood is so full of emotion. The clean vocals are left to a minimum, but sung very well. The guitar riffs are so musically advanced and the drumming is just mind blowing. The music is just as great and entertaining live as well as what's recorded. Most definitely NOT a "studio band" like many other artists. A sure fire way to get whiplash in the middle of your living room, or any other place this album is being played.

As brutal as it it gets!!!

This album rips from top to bottom, brutal colorful guitars, insane drums, devastating vocals.... a must buy for any modern death metal / metal fan...
