Customer Reviews

A sturdy gem

Some albums get you from the start, others grow on you. This one does both. A few songs hit me from the start. Hurricane Sue is is a finely crafted wonder. Worn Out plays like an old friend. After repeated listening I find the whole album is great and flows well. Everything this fella churns out is great. Like aged whiskey his music has character. His sound has enough complexity to captivate, enough of an edge to invigorate, and enough warmth to illuminate.

Great Roadtrip Album

Saw them live back in 2002 at this little dive bar in Portland it was an amazing show esp after the violin player cranked out solo Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir" to kick off the second set. Sad that these guys never took off into the mainstream after the "Blackheart" album was released. Check out "You're So Mean" and "Blackheart" first, the rest will grow on you.
