They're at it again. Courtesy of the unclassifiable Load Records, the White Mice return with BLasssTPhlEgMEICE, a churning mass of noise and monster repetitive grooves that is certain to entertain all fans of mid-period Godflesh, Head of David, and other more sledgehammer units. The difference is the sense of humor that the White Mice — costumes and all — explore in their sound. One doesn't need to go any further than the titles to see this rather demented sense of humor at work, and the music, no matter how sinister sounding on the surface, is wonderfully good-natured within. These guys are having a ball messing around with everything from doom and death metal to sludge, industrial, and stoner rock. Here are some of the titles of this slab of hilarity: "Dieabeasstitty," "Catasstasteatrophy," "Foetal Castro," "Violence of the Lamb," "Porn Again," "Mousestassh Ride," "Rattarddead," and "Turban Sprawl." You get it, you know what it sounds like, and you know if this appeals to you. This is one sick-ass party record — one where the motto should be "We're going to jail."
