wonderful!!!
I absolutely loved this album! The tunes are catchy and cheerful...fun enough for children, and sophisticated enough to appeal to adults. All the little ones in my family love the songs and dance around to them (as do the parents!)...it brings out the kid in you. Wonderful, wonderful album! Fabulous artists performing the songs, as well.
About time!
I got this album Christmas 2007. I still like it (and I'm almost 14). I know for a fact that the Uninvited Loud Precision Band songs and Loud!/Quiet were great songs! Did iTunes just get this album? Because I couldn't find it until now. Anyway, good album. Reccomended for your children.
Humor, variety, sophistication, and authenticity
I stumbled upon this gem on accident. This is the best children's CD I have found so far. My one-year old immediately began to dance to the 30 second previews, so I purchased the album. We danced through the entire collection without taking a break. Each song has it's own sound and rhythm. There are marches, waltzes, a tango, big band, ballads--this CD has a little bit of everything making it very easy to move to. The songs are educational without being ostentatious, and humorous without being annoying. I also appreciate the instrumental back-ups; most are authentic. Real piano, bass, guitar, horns; not too much is synthesized. There is even a bonus track at the end of an instrumental One Shoe Blues where the artist is jamming on his bass guitar along with the piano; it's fantastic! If you've been looking for a CD that you can listen to with your kids, this is great.
