This is a great album for surf fans
If you're a fan of Dick Dale, the Ventures, the Mermen, or Los Straitjackets, with a little X or Dead Kennedys thrown in, then you'll love this band. BWT are an instrumental rock band whose music is best described as 60's surf and garage rock, filtered through the LA punk scene of the late 70's and 80's. Take your basic power trio format, add reverb, and filter through 40 years of rock and prog influences, and you might get something like BWT. The band's sound is "retro" without sounding old or dated. Highlights include Oolin Poolin Oy, the hilarious D'yer Moon, and the positively SICK Mermaid in Japan, where you can almost hear the guitar pick disintegrating.
Highly recommended for fans of the surf genre, as well as fans of instrumental guitar rock who might be looking for something different. Preview these tracks and you'll buy the album - it's that good.
