Like the first time you ate S
OMG another turkey baster full of sound from one half of PantyRaid and one hell of a DJ. After killing it on remixes of source material by the likes of Sufjan Stephens and the Police, MP shows that his chops are equally delicious on his own material. Other artists take note; this is how you pay attention to detail. Sounds are so craftily filtered, it's as if MP dug into Pandora's Box and hand-selected only the grimiest glitches and sinister wobbles to treat us in the overworld to. Tracks like "Shorty" and "I'm an O.G" pay homage to the hard edge and wormy sines of hip-hop, while tracks like "Papi" and "Playa Carmen" will have you getting naked and eating various food items off of each other in no time. Dub purists will love "I Got What You Want Boy", and even the more experimental stuff like "Crackberry" will make you incontinent with joy. And to top it all off, if you think the tracks are good, go see this live and prepared to lose your already-blown mind. Can't wait to see MP in sunny L.A. at the end of the month!
