Must Have!

If you like bluegrass these are must have albums. All of the Bluegrass Album Band recordings are good. It doesn't get any better than these guys.

Bought this CD a couple weeks ago and finally listened to it in it's entirety. Lot's of lively engergy, and bluegrass instrumental goodness! each song has character defined by the great musicians involved in the project including my two favorite players Tony Rice and Jerry Douglas...and when they're involved you can't go wrong.

The Bluegrass Album Band was a bluegrass supergroup formed in 1980. Originally, the band featured J.D. Crowe, Doyle Lawson, Tony Rice, Bobby Hicks, and Todd Phillips. All of the members were known as progressive bluegrass musicians, but the Bluegrass Album Band was designed to showcase the traditional side of their talents. Their first album, The Bluegrass Album, was intended as a one-shot project, but it proved so successful that the group recorded four other albums over the course of the decade....
