Forgotten Masterpiece

If I must beg you to listen to this album, I will, personally. The songs on this album move me in a way that few rock/pop songs do. Somehow, this band created a unique sound which renders the reliable "comparison game" meaningless. Still, I will try. Imagine Joy Division based around the guitar instead of the bass; more cymbals in the drumming; similar haunting, enigmatic lyrics delivered by a singular vocalist. This is one of the very few albums to cash in on the possibilities opened up by the mighty Joy Division. I hope you take as much from this album as I have!

Agreed, this is a masterpiece

I've only recently discovered this cd and agree that this is a masterpiece of music making. Growing up in the shoegazer era, this has that feel, but something different and as brilliant. I strongly urge you to have a listen and make your own mind up. I think you'll be hooked.

You are not prepared

There is no way you are prepared to experience the full depth of this album. To come close you will need to evolve during it's play just to keep from falling farther behind. Then, once evloved as far as you can, you discover a part that you never noticed before and the process begins again. As you go on the trip, if "Sgt. Pepper's" is the intro, "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" is the peak, the "Body Exit Mind" is the return avenue. And it only took 25 years ...

While grunge reigned in the early '90s, New Fast Automatic Daffodils made its mark on the indie rock scene in Manchester, England. Bassist Justin Crawford, guitarist Dolan Hewison, and drummer Perry Saunders got together in 1988, and singer Andy Spearpoint joined soon after. Spearpoint's obscure lyrics spoken over repetitive riffs and beats gave NFAD's music a dream-like quality. While many bands of that era were preoccupied with displaying their angst on the world stage, NFAD was concerned...
