Album Review

John Barry's steamy Body Heat remains one of the most potently erotic film scores ever recorded — with its smoky, jazz-inspired saxophone solos and swooning strings, the music positively marinates in innuendo and desire, but below its surface bubbles mystery and malice. What makes Body Heat so effective is how precisely it mirrors director Lawrence Kasdan's neo-noir narrative — what at first seems so sexy soon transforms into something far more ominous, yet the score retains its carnal allure despite the threat of danger lurking around the next melodic corner.

Body Heat

Even without ever seeing this movie, this instrumental music stands on its own as great mood-inducing reverie. Soft-moving, yet intense - a real lay back-close -your-eyes type of listening experience. And if you haven't seen the movie, the music will make you.

Well Crafted Score

This is a well crafted score to a film noir that is one of the best movies of the 80's. John Barry is master of movie scores. From the Sexy yet mysterious Main title(Track 1), his music is very prominent in every scene. For example track 6(Chapeau Gratis) the scene where Matty gives Ned a hat by the beach as token of her love for him. a simple scene, yet the piece of music guides it from sweet to premonition with great skill. It all builds up to track 15(Matty Was Mary Ann), the surpise ending. John Barry lays it straight with the sexy yet mysterious Main title piece. I bought a lot of soundtracks, I think this is one of the best I've heard in my life.

Epic Noir

One of the great romantic noir soundtracks of all time. Ranks with the absolute best Hitchcock scores. A fantastic piece.
