The Dude below has tunnel vision

ok, im not trying to be a dick, but the guy below is wrong. yeah, i'll give you that these guys have never served in the armed forces but they are not just whining for the sake of whining. i cant speak for every artist on this compilation, but i know for a fact that bad religion, pearl jam and serj tankian/system of a down, are involved with orginaztions that are against the war. this compilation is not bagging on soldiers, they are caught in the crossfire but these bands, like a lot of people in the country right now, are against the war. the movie is about a dude who paralyzed after serving just one week in Iraq. So maybe these guys didnt serve in the army, but they are voicing that they are strongly against it and writing some really great songs.

Crap

As an Iraq War Veteran (2004-2005 OIF II USMC) I can say this is not our music. This pure political garbage and the fact that they are marketing it as something that motivates Marines/Soldiers/Sailors/Airmen is ridiculous. This is music for those who hate the military or are too scared to serve themselves. In fact an overwheliming majority of Iraq veterans support the cause that is going on in Iraq. There is a slew of Iraq Vets running for Congress this year and they are running on a pro-Iraq war campaign.

Bravo....Eddie Vedder...Bravo!!!

After reading a piece in Rolling Stone Magazine I learned that all proceeds are going to Veterans of the Iraq War...What a great way for these artists to use their collective voice! My take on this soundtrack is that it is clearly PRO-SOLDIER and ANTI-WAR. I'm a fan of one of the lesser known (but not for long) artists on this soundtrack, Brendan James. This new version of Hero's Song was a great find.
