Album Review

Boylan Heights, the Connells' second album, shows a great improvement over its predecessor. With help from producer Mitch Easter, the band effectively combines Southern rock's jangly guitars with Celtic influences. One of the more distinctive, though generally overlooked, college rock albums of the late '80s.

About Time!!

I am so stoked this album is finally available again. I owned the cassette back in 1988 and played til it shredded. Unlike REM, you can actually understand the lyrics to these songs. I'm back in high school again. Love it!

Finally on itunes

I'm glad to see these guys show up on iTunes after all this time. Scotty's Lament and Choose a Side are two of the greatest songs. Everytime I listen to this, I'm instantly transported back to freshman year of college.

Such Great Heights

Have loved this record for well over 20 years now, especially "Scotty's Lament," "Choose a Side," and "Try." Hard to think of many records that begin with three knockouts like those. Another Mitch Easter triumph.
