iTunes Review

Coupled with post adolescent hormonally-driven drama, the overwhelming (i.e. platinum) success of 2007’s Riot! almost broke up Paramore as the young men in the band found themselves overshadowed by frontwoman Hayley Williams. But the recording process was therapeutic as passive/aggression turned into finger pointing lyrics that forced the band to confront one another with productive communication. The result is an incredible third studio album wrought with tension, catharsis and of course totally awesome songs. Brand New Eyes is an apt moniker in that each member sees each other differently now. “Careful” kicks it off with winding guitars and skyward rocketing melodies bursting from lyrics about the dangers of bottling up one’s feelings and opinions. “Ignorance” is the money track. It grapples the ear with honed hooks and lyrics that throw punches at the frustration of someone who stubbornly refuses to confront change. Another standout is “Brick By Boring Brick,” a tune that (finally) rails against the calculated aloofness of the hipster generation.

WOW. :D its remarkable

Paramore, i've loved them since the start. AWKIF was a great start, RIOT! blew me away, but BNE.... they've done it again, but added so much more. This album just shows how much they've grown, and this album shows that they are very serious of pleasing not only their love in music, but enlighting the souls of their fans and listeners. To Hayley, Josh, Jeremy, Taylor, and Zac: this album is so beautiful. You deserve all the recongnition you get, although you just do it for the music ;)
BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!!!!!
so much emotion, passion, breath, sweat, tears, happiness, hope, friendship, heartbreak, and LIFE in this album.
Paramore has never failed, always pleased, and each time, have added their own flavors.
POWERFUL VOCALS. all i wanted especially, but all the tracks are fantastic in their own speacial ways.
The best of the year. I don't doubt it :)

It's not Riot.

But that's not a bad thing. They're growing up and you can really tell. "All I Wanted" gives me chills. Every song on this album is brutally honest. I've been a fan since the beginning and "Brand New Eyes" doesn't dissapoint.

It's worth it to buy the entire CD!!!

All I Wanted is the BEST BEST BEST song off of Brand New Eyes. If you don't want to buy the whole CD PLEASE at least buy that song. Hayley's vocals are STUNNING on it, and you can really see the evolvement in their music stylistics. This is one of those songs that you just melt into. From the dreamy ambient guitar parts to the intense rock chords, everything about it draws you in. I can't stop listening to this song!!! My other favorites are Careful, Turn It Off, Ignorance, The Only Exception, Brick By Boring Brick, Where the Lines Overlap, Looking Up, and Feeling Sorry. (In that order, starting with the best) That is basically the whole CD, which means almost all the songs on it are great! There are only two songs that I would consider my least favorites. They are Playing God and Misguided Ghosts. I like the songs, but I know I won't be listening to them as much as the others. The lyrics and Hayley's vocals in these two songs are good, but I don't care for the music. I do have to point out that Misguided Ghosts is different from anything Paramore has done before. It's more of a folky "coffee shop" tune. I like that they are branching out, but the guitar music of it bores me and doesn't sound very original. I wish the music would have been more intriguing like the way Manchester Orchestra's folk-indie songs sound. I feel like if Paramore is going to branch out they should make sure they do the genre justice. I hope that's not too harsh! I bet a lot of people will love both of these songs, but they just aren't for me. Overall Brand New Eyes is an amazing follow up to Riot. I recommend buying the entire CD. Almost all of the songs on it are GREAT, and the other few will surly end up growing on all of us.

Biography

Formed: 2004 in Franklin, TN

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Although their blend of emo-pop and slick, anthemic rock & roll eventually made them stars on both sides of the Atlantic, Paramore began humbly enough in Franklin, TN, where Hayley Williams met brothers Josh and Zac Farro after moving to town from Mississippi. Already a powerhouse vocalist at the age of 13, Williams joined a band that the Farro siblings had formed with local guitarist Taylor York. She left the group soon after, signing with Atlantic Records as a solo artist instead, but clashed...
