THREE CHEERS FOR BETTY!
It’s been a couple of years since Snowbiz, but worth the wait. From the fancy bones in “Cinderella”, heartbreakingly sad “Another One”, the incredibly clever lyrics of “Film Noir”, to the pop radio hit worthy “King Kong”. I love them all. If you’re pondering purchase, this album is definitely a c**k-a-doodle-DO!
Bright & Dark - Amazing!
Bright and Dark is one of Betty’s best albums – a synergy of talents and the product of a difficult year no doubt with Elizabeth’s battle with breast cancer. This CD really took me through a wide range of emotions and motifs– from sexy (Back It Up) and sassy (Did U Tell Her) to funny (Linda Blair) and moving (A Fix of You). Bright and Dark is my favorite Betty CD by far! Musically it is fluid, and smooth; vocally it really showcases these three artists’ genius. The texture of their three voices and the places in which they come together is sheer sensuality! The lyrics are brilliant with songs like Film Noir – ‘fade in, fade out, move in, move out, she’s film noir, she’ll reel you in. She’s playing herself while she’s fooling the world...’ My absolute favorite song on the album is ‘Back It Up’ with the lead voice (I think it’s Amy Ziff’s) luring you into a hypnotic dance of absolute sexiness! So hot! It’s a great CD no matter how you slice it!
Betty Keeps Getting Better
Betty is the only band I know that can weave disco, punk, orchestral, rock and soul all into one masterpiece album. Fans have been waiting to hear the latest from the girls and they have not let us down. A Fix of You breaks your heart while Cindarella and Linda Blair take you to strange and wonderful places. But for infectious fun, King Kong ROCKS! I cannot wait to hear these songs live!
