iTunes Review
City and Colour is Canadian singer/songwriter Dallas Green (riffing on his own name there), formerly with the post-hardcore/screamo outfit Alexisonfire. Green’s second C&C outing sparkles in its stripped-down, vulnerable nakedness, with songs that are by turns warm and chilling, aching and joyous. Highlights include the gently spiraling “Constant Knot,” with Green sounding like a man about to come undone; the single, “Waiting…,” a bittersweet, mid-tempo number crackling with gentle percussion and a memorable guitar melody (and a few great lines, such as “a coma might feel better than this”); “The Death of Me,” a comparatively upbeat number with sprinting guitars and snare drum; the foot-stomping “Sleeping Sickness,” with guest Gordon Downie of The Tragically Hip; and two tracks, “Forgive Me” and “What Makes a Man?”, featuring Green’s reverb-drenched vocals and a hushed solemnity rivaling fellow plaid-wearing beardo Bon Iver’s own introspective work. City and Colour allows Green’s notable talent to be expressed with clarity and intimacy, and it’s a place he may want to dwell in for a while longer.

Must Buy
If you like any single song from this album because it is in the genre you are looking for, buy the whole album. Everything from the lyrics to the acoustic guitar and how the album is set up is just perfect. Dallas Green needs more recognition for this album, it is truely a work of art that Is hard to be matched with. One of the two singers from Alexisonfire, he has to have one of the best voices of any musician I have heard. Alike artists/bands Jon Foreman ( also acoustic ) Coldplay The Fray...etc. 1.Forgive Me 9/10 - A very short song with only a few lines of lyrics, but the lyrics are truely amazing, a great way to start and album 2.Confessions 9/10 - Slow Paced, meaningful lyrics, you could tell he was trying to get a point across. 3.The Death of Me 10/10 - Brilliant, everythig from the guitar to the lyrics, amazing song, one of the best. 4.Body in a Box - 9.5/10 - This is a song about death, strong meaning, great vocals from Dallas 5.Sleeping Sickness- 9.5/10 - Gordan Downie makes an appearanc ein this song to kind change the vocals up a little. Just a great mix of everything to tie this song together. Becoming second single. 6.What Makes a Man? - 10/10 - Currently my favorite song on the album, the lyrics are the best of any, and if you really listen to the song it makes you understand it better. amazing. 7.Waiting... - 9.5/10 - This is the first single of the album. It is a very good song, and the more you listen to it, the more you appriciate it. 8.Constant Knot - 8/10 - A slow song, I know some people will enjoy it. 9.Against the Grain - 9/10 - The first few lyrics had me hooked, and amazing vocals in this one. 10.The Girl - 9.5/10 - This is the song I give to my friends who haven't heard of this band and they love it, mainly the lyrics and midway through the song the guitar suddenly picks up. amazing. 11.Sensible Heart - 8.5/10 - good lyrics, kind slow though. 12.As Much As I Ever Could - 9/10 - Again, the lyrics had me hooked. A great song to end the album on. Recommended to all.

This man deserves a Grammy for this one, or atleast some kind of recognition for this truly amazing work of art called Bring Me Your Love. I can't stop listening to this album, every single song flows right on to the next. I've heard some of them before, mostly live recordings, but the album versions are still amazing. I love the fact that he used an "open room" studio to record, you can really tell when you are listening to the album. If you are a fan, get the album for sure, If you've never heard of City and Colour a.k.a. Dallas Green of Alexisonfire, than you really need to get this album... right now, waste not another minute!!!
