Music for Riders of Old British Motorcycles
This is the Brittown soundtrack. Brittown is a fine little film, but, you probably won't understand the CD if you haven't seen the movie: which you should. It is a well-made documentary that follows the life and adventures of a small group who's lives revolve around old British motorcycles. And, if the Smiling Face Down recordings sound like they were made in small roadhouses with basic recording gear, it's because they were. Meatball, the lead singer, is the center character of this saga and provides a good voice to go with his likable personality. The American Wake provide sea-going songs that were studio-recorded and are a metaphor for a motorcyclist's life on the road and race track. If you yearn for a simpler life of old motorcycles and good friends this is the perfect soundtrack.
