they don't come much better...
...these days, man, it's hard to find a reliable rapper, let alone a solid hip hop album. Grip has proven to be as unflinching in his rhyming talent and wit as he is in putting it to use in song. This is a complete piece of work from an astonishingly underrated hip hop artist--feel him on every track. Not copping this album would be a mistake on the part of anyone--1st generation hip hoppers and newbies alike. Check the samples for yourself, that's what itunes is good for!

A West Coast underground rapper/producer with a self-depreciating sense of humor, Grip Grand made a name for himself with the full-length album Welcome to Broakland, recorded on four-track in his bedroom and self-released in 1999. Later re-released in 2002 on well-regarded Bay Area label Bomb Hip-Hop Records, the album didn't sell much, but it did attract a significant if small following.
