Good start
There are some great covers here and two that aren't so great. Great CD over all!!! Only thing missing is Todd Snider doing a cover of Mr. Prine!!!
Well deserved tribute.....
Despite the accolades over the years, John Prine remains one of the most under-appreciated singer-songwriters in folk/country/americana music. I am thrilled to see this CD! And, the Avett Brothers do it again. Spanish Pipedream a MUST.
Fine tribute with a some distinctive reinterpretations
John Prine fans should love the whole album. But while I can enjoy the closer to the original covers by Old Crow and Justin Townes Earle, artists like Lambchop, Those Darlins, and Bon Iver really made these classics their own.
Regardless, worth purchasing the whole album. Long live JP!
