Album Review
There's a lot to shout about on Brooke Barrettsmith's debut, but nothing comes across louder than the 26-year-old's passion for the Christian ministry. The album is a positive witness from the Kelly Clarkson/Avril Lavigne school of girl rock. Occasionally the distortion soars louder and resembles Flyleaf, but it is overwhelmingly middle of the road rock. An impressive maturity shows through the arena-friendly anthems, but the ballads like "Quiet My Heart" give the album its character. Anecdotally, Brooke made it to the Top 40 on season five of American Idol, where she became friends with the likes of Mandisa, Chris Daughtry, and Katharine McPhee

Really Good!
Farewell, More Real, Paper Tigers, Quite My Heart, and Breakthrough are my favorites. If you don't get the entire album, I would get those songs.
Brooke Barrettsmith has talent
I love Brooke Barrettsmith; I saw her in concert with Wavorly and Pillar. She was one of my favorites, her honesty is so refreshing. My favorite song is Paper Tigers, it seems slow, but I love the melody and the words. I think you'll like Brooke Barrettsmith if you like Krystal Meyers and BarlowGirl.
Wow, what a debut.
I really enjoy and like this music, it is different than what other artists are doing, and it is definitely different lyrically than what I have heard before especially with More real and Farewell. I can't wait for her new CD, I hope to see her in concert at some point.
