THIS is P.O.D

I no longer listen to P.O.D but I went through atleast 2 CDs of this album back in the late 90's. After sampling their latest record, I felt the need to comment on this one. THIS is what the original band sounded like. Heavy, almost hardcore but unrelenting for the most part. They also were very unabashedly Christian with their lyrics, message, concerts..etc. It seems as though MTV got ahold of them, cleaned'em up and then sent them out again on the airwaves. All albums after this one lost their bite. If you're a new P.O.D fan I HIGHLY recommend you listen to this record. It's what they initially set out to be before fame got ahold of'em. Great cd from start to finish.

Get it if you're already a fan.

You should get into them from their newer stuff and then work backwards to this and Snuff The Punk.

back up in dis, 1996 and then some...know what i'm sayin'?

Of course P.O.D.'s new stuff is good, in fact that's actually how I got into them...I think Satellite is a fabulous album, and their new Serpents & Angels album is freakin awesome. But, I didn't actually love this band until I found this album... I'm naturally a death/thrash/grindcore kind of guy, and only a few P.O.D. songs caught my attention, but this album as a whole is freakin awesome. Something about the lyrics, the spirit in the music, the talent in the songwriting, everything. Favorites include: Know Me, Selah, Breathe Babylon, Preach, Live and Die. If you're a metalhead like me who's willing to broaden your horizons and get into some "rapcore", this album is a good place to start.
