"Horror Disco"

Poni Hoax is a French indie/electro band. Budapest is their first single. Similar to Giorgio Moroder in style, Budapest is a great song with cool female vocals. Joakim's remix is good as well. If you are curious about the band, they do have a myspace page. I recommend this song. It's darn good.

Awesome, needs more attention

I can picture this song having gone over well in the American goth discos that predate it - I mean the acid / drugs scene of the early 90s across the urban US. However, the sounds here are stricly modern in a direct sense, this is not throwback music. I frankly don't care for the instrumental remix included with this single, but the base track itself is worth the price. The other reviewer is partially right - there is a horror element here. I think that's oversimplifying the mystery and the development of the track, though. This is one of those songs that you can't listen to 30 seconds of and then judge it - the last 90 seconds are epic, and you'd miss it if you just dismiss the Electric 6 style disco that the track begins with.

No good rhythm.

This song stinks, it doesn't have a good, motivating rhythm you would listen to at dance parties. Also, why does a French band have their song's name the name of the capital of Hungary?

The four musicians in Poni Hoax met while studying at the Conservatoire...
