Album Review

On Building, Sense Field sound more like an emo band than on the jangly Sense Field; this time around, the tunes are shorter, harder, and more derivative of post-hardcore, featuring less-predictable arrangements. The group's calling card is vocalist Jonathan Bunch, who at times sounds like a serious, more sensitive Dexter Holland. The band succeed most when they combine their energy with memorable melodic ideas and arrangements, as they do on the concise "Different Times," the inventive "Shallow Grave," and the driving title track. Andy Wallace's mix adds punch and definition to the proceedings.

An extremely underrated band

This CD took me from listening to only hardcore to expanding into the emo movement (which was much different in the mid to late 90's than what is considered "emo" today). Think somewhat punk influenced melodic, inspiring, energetic and swirling music. Everyone who has listened to this CD in the car with me has said that the singer reminds them of Dexter from the the Offspring, but much more melodic and flowing. This is one of my all time favorites of any genre of music. Download "Different Times" and you'll want the whole CD, and it's worth it.

missing track

awesome, but what happened to "shallow grave", best song on album?

Personal Classic

This one always finds its way back into the rotation. Very clear and energy filled music here. "Different Times", "Shallow Grave" and "Wondering Time" are some of the highlights. Thanks for the memories Sense Field.
