another dissapointment from what was the best band of the 00's

SO Some of you didn't stubble upon STG until now, and you like them. I still mourn the loss of CARAH FAYE and a truly amazing voice. This new chick is like driving a YUGO after owning a FERRARI. I cant hear one of their songs with their great writing and production and not think how good it would be with a great female vocalist instead of this typical karaoke caliber singer. I would rather have no female vocals with STG music than hear those nails running down the chalkboard. Girls from the local high school choir would put that to shame. Not to mention, no stage presence, no looks, no charisma. What were Shinys thinking? No wonder they lost a vast majority of their original fan base. For the best album of the 00's see "WE ARE PILOTS" and go purchase that instead.

Thought I knew this

This is in the car commercial. I think it is a car commercial. I don't begrudge them that at all. But I am torn. When I first heard "Stripped," I was very impressed. They chose a great tune to cover, and killed it. And when I met them at a show, they were really nice folks. Their first album was brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Second one had its moments, but was simply not as good. Now, they are releasing another cover tune. I don't mind covers if they are good, but their "Major Tom," was a bit pedestrian. On a side note, if you want to here the definitive version, listen to Peter Schilling. Now their next single is another cover, and it's okay, kind of generic. They are becoming a novelty almost - they are becoming Razed In Black. C'mon, you guys showed more promise and creativity in the first album, you can do it again.

The Next commercial tune? :)

Wonderful cover. Bright and in your face!

Genre: Dance

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Although formed in sunny California during the early 2000s, Shiny Toy Guns' music flaunts a sleek, '80s-influenced combination of synth-pop and electro-clash. Founded in 2001 by bassist/keyboardist Jeremy Dawson and guitarist/vocalist Gregori Chad Petree — both natives of central Oklahoma — the band's lineup was fully realized with the addition of vocalist Carah Faye Charnow (who was brought aboard in 2004 to replace the departing Ursula Vari) and drummer Mikey Martin.
