Cabbage Alley
As someone having had the pleasure of being around when the Meters released their first big hit, "Sissy Strut", I have always enjoyed the music from Cabbage Alley, especially the title song, as that's the type of music I remember and associate with the Meters!
must hear cover
if you haven't had the pleasure of hearing the meters cover "birds" by neil young you should add this track to your library. i gave the five star rating based on this track. the album has high and lows.
Funky Funky
It is truly a shame that The Meters never really got their due. They were an incredibly tight, talented, and funky band. Cabbage Alley is my personal favorite, and thank you ITunes for finally putting it up in it's entirety. This album is a must hear for anyone looking for a doorway into the Meters' music.
