Have your cake and kill it to
I was familiar with Paul Durham from Black Lab, so I thought I'd check this out. It's very different from the Lab, but completely effing amazing in its own way. These songs are all very heartfelt and honest, not the ironic poseur shite that is so big these days. Cake or Death are willing to really put it out there, some of the songs are really sweet and very moving. They sort of have 2 lead vocalists, Paul and a woman named Kristen. They sing alone, they sing together, they really blend nicely. I don't know who else is doing that these days. Nice, very nice!
If you like Black Lab...
Then you won't mind Cake or Death. It's a good album, not great. A couple of songs are above average but mostly average.

This album is definitely worth buying, the lyrics in this album really hit home, honest, daring and provocative. Everyone really needs to buy this album.
