What amounts to an eclectic mix of experimental digital rub outs is the work of one Jim Killebrew aka Hawaiian Garbage. Hunkered in a holler in the woods of North Carolina, Jim stretches the sureality of home life with a plethora of digital and analog melody makers, incorporating among other passing fancies, his kids random observations of the universe, phone calls from kinfolk , and sound bites shamelessly stolen from other musicians. To be in on Hawaiian Garbage at this point is to be in on the ground floor of a one story building. Which is also like being in the penthouse if you think about it. As more emerges from this self-taught folk musicologist, people will look back at "Call it What You Want" and hear the nascency of something very unusual and very unpopular with the masses. And as I'm sure you, dear reader, can attest, that is a very good thing.
