Customer Reviews

Thank you!

Just as superb as the past two SSB albums, possibly even more so - this band's sound continues to mature and gel with each new album. This blend of blues and rock goes down like a smooth drink, and warms you up like one too. To the band: thank you for this excellent album, thank you for putting it on iTunes where it's affordable for poor college students like me, and thank you for continuing to make music!

Peter Tork & Shoe Suede Blues - Another Great CD

Peter Tork and his blues band Shoe Suede Blues have put out a great mix of blues originals and covers while throwing some rock 'n' roll in along the way. Tork will forever be associated with the Monkees and he and his band give a nod to his past with a great bluesed up version of the Monkees' first hit single "Last Train To Clarksville." Another song familiar to Monkees fans will be "For Pete's Sake" the song written by Tork was used as the closing theme for the second season of the show. "For Pete's Sake" is reinterpreted and sounds wonderful. Tork also finally has released "Good Looker" a staple at his solo shows for years. Tork wrote "G-d Given Grant" with his brother Nick and it has a catchy chorus. Tork also wrote "Ain't Your Fault" which is included on the CD as well. Other highlights on the CD include a great cover of "She Belongs To Me" and "Sea Cruise." Overall this CD is great and is definitely worth purchasing.
