iTunes Review
Better known as actor/comedian Donald Glover (seen each week on NBC's Community), Childish Gambino got his name from the online Wu-Tang Name Generator and has already released three albums and two mixtapes for free online. Camp is his first official album, and it finds him mining the same territory as Kid Cudi, Jay Cole, and early Kanye, with self-aware verses and tons of pop culture references woven among rebuttals to hipster-rap haters and race-related commentary, backed by unusual production that bounces between glitchy electro, sweeping orchestration, and jumpy pop-rap anthems. More about the lyrics than the beats, Camp is an undeniably unique album that may take a few listens to get into. But it's well worth the effort, especially if you're sick of the standard money tales that dominate commercial radio. "Backpackers," "Hold You Down," and "All the Shine" are highlights.

What can be said?
The man is doing everything. Between acting, writing, modeling, and rapping, Donald's taking over. I hope these mainstream rappers are ready for a kick in the nuts.

I've been a fan for over three years, and I can confidently call this his masterpiece. Eclectic, thrilling, honest, and most of all original, Camp is the best rap album of the year.
Actually worthy of 5 stars.
This album is a masterpiece. Donald has blended the best of his past work with a new, polished sound and despite being signed by a label, has been given free reign and kept his personality alive throughout. I'm not sure what it is about his music, but there's an instant connection that I feel and I know other people do too. It's as if he's just chillin in your living room or in the corner lounge at a club rapping to a small group of people, and you're a part of it. Beautiful and worthy of not only gaining this recognition, but all of the success that comes with it. Congrats, Donald.
