“You know what I’m willing to do to keep you here? Baby, any damn thing I have to.” Barry White is remembered for his bedroom symphonies, but 1974’s Can’t Get Enough dwells less on the physical than on an all-encompassing romantic commitment. Apparently a concept album about his then-recent marriage to Glodean White, the record capped the multi-hyphenate musician’s breakthrough year with orchestrations focused on lush strings, harpsichords and a handful of disco-ready beats; “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe” and “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything” went to Numbers One and Two on the Billboard pop chart.

It isn't just about sex, it's true love
Some people, after hearing Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe, think of Barry White as just someone obsessed with sex. But the passion and eloquence of his music is proof otherwise. He clearly was just a naturally romantic guy, who happened to be able to express his love of love itself through music. Every song on Can't Get Enough is a beautiully orchestrated tribute to love, and nobody could ever express this idea more thoroughly and flawlessly than Barry White. To believe that he was just some depraved, hedonistic hack is to ignore all that he tried to say about love. He understood true love more powerful than most people could experience, and to physical love is one of the ultimate expressions of such meaningful emotion. So when you listen to this great music, don't lose the message in its overwhelming passion.

This is the most-played lp in my entire 'Barry' (27- lp) collection!!! I've purchased it 3 different times!!! It also contains the the very 1st song I dedicated to my first wife, "The First, the Last.." And it was the first truly liberating lp by Barry, he ran the full spectrum of what was to come from him musically, I think. Enjoy people, in my estimation if you have to own 1 Barry White albulm, THIS IS THE ONE! You Can't Get Enough!!!
