Album Review

It continues the funkier direction of In City Dreams. ~ Michael P. Dawson, Rovi

Robin Does NOT Disappoint!

I can say, if you --at least occasionally-- curl up with Mary Jane, or are just naturally relaxed and open to bluesy-rock to calm the beast within, this album and any album of Robin's during the entire decade of the 1970s will not disappoint! If you like "Bridge of Sighs," you'll like "Caravan to Midnight," too.

Sheesh! Listen to Joe Satriani and other more "contemporary" artists and you WILL see and HEAR some peculiar similarities in musical themes. I would say it is more from some "pool" of electrical-art these guys know how to tap into ... not plagerism!

Also check out "Twice Removed from Yesterday" (Hannah, etc.)

Back inthe 70's

Meets the high water mark of Bridge of Sighs

Trower's Caravan to Midnight approaches or meets the high water mark of Bridge of Sighs. Again the notes of his guitar emote euphoria and at times a dreamy contemplation. Trower meets Hendrix on the field of guitar of mastery, though one sometimes wishes Trower could invent the freakish lyrics of Hendrix could summon.

Born on March 9, 1945, in Catford, England, Trower spent the early '60s playing guitar in various London based outfits; the most successful one being the R&B group the Paramounts, who specialized mostly in covers, but managed to issue several singles between 1963 and 1965....
