Birdlips Takes Flight!
This Charlottesville-based band is one of my favorite albums I've bought all year. It has a variety of styles on each track, which is surprising from such a young band, even more so for their debut album! Be sure to check out 'Some Kind of Death', 'Cardboard Wings', and 'Magicfish'. The entire album is fabulous, and definitely worth buying. I can't wait to see what comes next from this enormously talented group.
fantastic debut - don't miss!
These two are incredible. Great songwriting, beautiful melodies, and an all-around wonderful sound - simple and haunting. "Some Kind of Death" is a great song - and was apparently featured on NPR? - as are "Magicfish," "Dream Within a Dream," and "Tire Chains." Don't miss a lovely album from two very talented individuals.
This is a great album
Just listened to this again recently after a few years, this stands out as a great collection of original songs. Highly recommended!
