Chasing Someday is a galvanizing release in the heartland rock tradition of Petty and Springsteen (with a dash of country added as well). With the Neighbors providing dynamic, no-frills backup, this Memphis-bred singer/songwriter explores emotional hunger and obsession without sinking into easy sentimentality. Holcomb dives into upbeat tracks like “Fire and Dynamite” and “Steal My History” with real ferocity, spurred on by hard-crunching guitars and galloping drums. With “Miracles,” he delivers a visionary glimpse of everyday happiness that steadily rises in intensity. When wife Ellie Holcomb adds her voice to such tracks as “Live Forever” and “Someday,” the effect is similar to Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova’s tormented duets in the film Once. Holcomb’s songs have a spiritual dimension that only fully emerges at key moments, such as on the prayer-like ballad “Weight of the World.” Chasing Somebody manages to be tender and heroic at once, dashing off striking lyric phrases while keeping its musical thrust lean, clean and direct.

We now have proof that 'Someday' will be the record that we all get to look back on and determine was the turning point for DH&N. With upbeat crowd favorites such as 'Fire and Dynamite' to the poignant and lyrically genius title cover song, 'Someday', Drew and Ellie show why their chemistry is so effectious in the recording studio. While the growth of their music is evident in powerful songs such as 'Weight of the World' and 'Hourglass' it definitely takes the seasoned DH&N listener by a gratifying, pleasing surprise. Gaining acclaim through the song 'Live Forever', Drew shows off his endearing voice and unquestioned stage presence that will be sure to springboard him into new heights. Uplifting
If there's one thing Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors music does for me, it definitely lifts my spirits. Their melodies are so beautiful and real treat to the ears. I definitely recommend buying this album. The songs are enjoyable for anyone. I have been so excited about this album and am glad I finally own it!! You should definitely buy it too!
Very Credible Song Writers
Drew and Ellie Holcomb have released several albums, from full band to acoustic. This album is much different from their others, showing their ability as songwriters and musicians in a different light than what they've shown before. As a listener, it's a breath of fresh air from so much of the music being produced today. As a longtime fan of DH&N, it's nothing short of amazing and continues to set apart this band from others. If you're hesitating to buy this album, don't wait any longer! This album won't let you down. It's a novel in a sea of magazines.
