I can't say enough great things about this album and all of Amanda's music. For those who have had the pleasure of seeing Amanda perform live, this collection of songs will remind them why they left those shows feeling like they heard an artist who is going to be big someday.
Each track is different and brings a unique flavor to the album. "Came to Us In Mexico" is a gorgeous song that very much exemplifies the sound Amanda brings to her solo shows. "If" pulls its inspiration and lyrics from the Rudyard Kipling poem of the same name. A powerful poem and a powerful song. "Monsters (Bang It Started) is a bit of a departure from some of the other songs but It shows off more of what Amanda is capable of doing...This girl is not a one trick pony.
While you are buying this, you should also buy her other albums. Each album has a unique and distinct flavor that none of the others have. Other than this one, "Savory Second" is probably my favorite, bringing in a unique R&B and Soul feel. Check out "Your Touch" on that one if you are looking to fall in love with this girl :)
Buy this and buy her other albums. In a few years Amanda Holmes is going to be a name that people know and you can say you heard her first.
