Mitty Collier
This album is a appetizer of all the great artist that was under the Chess Label at that time. However, Mitty Collier was one of the true geniuses...compared only with Etta James. Mitty Collier's claim to fame to many was " I Had A Talk Wtih My Man Last Night". But if you are fortunate enough to get her CD "Shades of a Genius" you will not be disapoointed in the least. Such songs as: No Faith, No Love...Pain...I Got Love...Sharing You...Come Back Baby...Let Them Talk...Gotta Get Away From It All. If you enjoy storytelling through song...from a woman with a powerful...sultry and soulful voice, then Mitty Collier is your girl. Mitty have the richness and deepness of Sarah Vaughn...the rawness of Aretha Franklin...and the grittiness of Etta James. True Treasures are hard to find in any medium. However, if you find "Shades of a Genius" you have struck the motherlode. If your library only have room for one soul album...Shades of a Genius should be that one album.

This is a wonderful collection of soulful tunes that are kinda hard to find. Not the just the hits you've heard over and over and over already.
