iTunes Review

Oh, Sleeper’s third album is the conceptual sequel to 2009’s Son of the Morning, which mused on a battle between God and Satan. Inspired by The Book of Revelation (but written like a Cormac McCarthy novel), Children of Fire takes place during the end times (spoiler alert: Satan and God are both assumed dead following their fight) and focuses on an atheist girl and her priest father, who assumes the role of judge now that God is dead. “Endseekers” opens with pummeling drums, winding guitars, and a brooding bass that all combine to create accessible metalcore over which Micah Kinard screams of an earth ravaged by the rapture (chronicled in the band’s preceding album). With a similarly relentless sonic attack, “Shed Your Soul” erupts like an angry volcano as Kinard growls about how there can’t be a heaven nor a hell with both deities dead. Exuding more propulsion (especially in the rhythm section), “The Marriage of Steel and Skin” plays with explosive fury before the triumphant title track ends with the daughter saved and ready to fight for God.

Yep

Me and my best friends wrote this. And yeah it's ok.

Nothing short of BUY and BLAST!

For years 'heavy' music has struggled for identity, genres form and markets are created within each to sell to buyers who want a consistent listen. This album is really something special. Not only does is seem to stand on it's own regardless of what genre it will inevitably be placed in, it is something that really captures the true talents of each member and displays them in raw and passion filled glory. When you listen to this album, you 'feel.' I mean you REALLY feel, whether it's the back story to Hush Yael, the melodic passion behind Means to Believe, or the perfect captured chaos in Dealers of Fame, you WILL love this album. This is truly a metal masterpiece and something every Christian or non-Christian interested in heavy music should own.

Amazing...

Let me just say that this is by far the best work Oh, Sleeper has accomplished... This album will never let you down from start to finish, with every song being a masterpiece. Buy this album and support them, because only the fanbase can make a band more popular! We gotta get their word out there! WOOO!

The Fort Worth-based metalcore act Oh, Sleeper was an outgrowth of the short-lived Christian emo band Terminal, which split up shortly following the release of its only album in 2005. Three members of Terminal — guitarist James Erwin, bassist Lucas Starr (who briefly played in a similar alternative Christian act, As Cities Burn, prior to that band's dissolution), and drummer Ryan Conley — regrouped with a pair of local Fort Worth musicians, singer Micah Kinard and guitarist Shane Blay...
