Album Review

This completely sticks out in comparison to the entire back catalog of SubPop. Instead of experimental indie rock or moody grunge, what we have here is obnoxiously happy pop-punk. With songs like "Henry Rollins Is No Fun" and "I Wanna Hump You," it's pretty apparent that Chixdiggit just want to have fun with their first record. Even if a lot of these songs have the same Ramones flavor with a verse-chorus-verse song structure, these guys have enough enthusiasm to make up for their redundancy.

Customer Reviews

Forget Blink 182, these guys are the real deal!!

Tired of all these neo pop punk bands like Blink 182, Fall Out Boy et al? Look no further. These guys from Canada have been rockin' it for quite a few years totally under the radar. This is still their best album with infectious rockers like "Great Legs" and "Where's Your Mom?" Not only are these songs catchy but they are pretty funny too. Case in point: "Henry Rollins Is No Fun" takes ol' Hank to task for not being as fun as used to be back in the day. Plus, can you really take a song called "I Wanna Hump You" all that seriously? If you're looking for a great dose of fun, fast rock 'n' roll songs you could do a lot worse. Check these guys out. And if you have to start somewhere, check out "Great Legs" which is a great primer into the universe of Chixdiggit.

An excellent album - still in my rotation after all these years. If you get the chance, SEE THEM LIVE!

Chixdiggit Rocks

This is one of my all time Favs. They do not drag out songs like most 4 cord wonder bands of today. Very up beat and easy to listen all the way threw and for 10 bucks you will feel you did not get cheated

Formed: 1991 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Originally using the future band moniker merely as an excuse to sell T-shirts with "Chixdiggit!" in cheesy metal logos, these guys figured that they should at least start a group with that name. So in 1991, without any musical experience or ability to read music, Mark O'Flaherty (guitar), K.J. Jansen (vocals/guitar), and Michael Eggermont (bass) got together with the intention of rocking out Calgary along with the rest of Canada. For...
