Shearing's trademark urbane jazz sound makes for lovely seasonal listening on Christmas with the George Shearing Quartet, with the pianist lending his feather-light touch to favorites including "White Christmas," "Winter Wonderland," "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!"

Shearing at his holiday best!
Back in 1998 while driving, I heard the song "Ding Dong! Merrily OnHIgh"on our local jazz station and knew instantly it was Shearing. After the song was over, the announcer said that this song came from what he thought was the best Christmas jazz album he had ever heard. That afternoon I found it, bought it and have been listening to it for almost 9 Christmas seasons since and was the man ever right! This album sets the tone for the holidays and is just in a word...beautiful! Shearing fans buy it and everyone else too!
The hit of the year is Ding Dong...
This year Ding Dong! Merrily on High is the Christmas jazz hit of the season for me. I can't stop listening to it!
