The Christmas Music of Johnny Mathis: A Personal Collection contains 15 highlights culled from the many holiday albums Johnny Mathis recorded for Columbia records over the years. Even though the collection spans several decades, it's remarkably consistent because Mathis' style stayed essentially the same, no matter what the current fads may have been. Also, the collection is strong simply because the compilers have selected many great performances, including "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas," "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," "Silver Bells" and "Sleigh Ride." It comes close to being the definitive Mathis Christmas compilation, even if it's not necessarily the definitive Mathis Christmas album.

Awesome!
Christmas songs are my favorite, so I'm always looking for good artists to sing them. Johnny Mathis is great. He reminds me of a family member. His voice is clear and crisp, but not choppy. He keeps the virture of the music while implementing his own style to these classic Christmas songs.

Christmas is not Christmas without Johnny Mathis. His voice is wonderful, he is synonomous with the holidays. This is a feel good, put you in a good mood collection. I highly recommend!
No Christmas without Johnny Mathis
During the Christmas season when I was growing up, we listened to only Johnny Mathis Christmas music. My mom and my aunts and uncles grew up listening to Johnny Mathis Christmas music. On Christmas when my family is all together, we all stop and sing "Sleigh Ride" when it comes on because it is such a catchy tune. His Christmas songs have something that other artists don't. It is almost like he sings them the correct way, I don't know how else to explain it. You certainly won't be disapointed by his clear, calming voice. You will never get the "sick of Christmas songs" feeling with his music.
