Great Songs + Great Voice = Great CD
Although this album has been around a while, it still holds up! Mr. Wagner is a veteran Broadway performer who has starred in numerous productions including "Into The Woods" (Wolf & Cinderella's Prince), "Camelot" (Lancelot), "Les Miserables" (Javert) and "Beauty & The Beast" (Beast). He is also well known for playing the lead role in "Jekyll & Hyde" during it's first post-Broadway tour of the country.
Most of the songs on this CD come from these and other musicals. Mr. Wagner's strong baritone voice is showcased in "I Need To Know" and "This is the Moment" both from the musical "Jekyll & Hyde" and again on "Stars" from "Les Miserables". However, he pulls back a bit on "Brother, My Brother" from the musical "The Civil War" and it turns out to be one of the highlights of the album!
All in all, if you like Broadway music delivered by one of the best, this album is for you! Great songs and arrangements coupled with a terrific baritone voice = a GREAT album!
What a voice!
Chuck delivers an awesome recording. I bought this after seeing him in Jerkyll & Hyde. His voice is memorizing and wonderful. Each piece show just what he can do. If you love broadway music. You will love Chuck Wagner.
