Produced by Polara's Jason Orris, Chump Lessons puts a pop spin on the basic rock and roll dynamics; Matt Foust's guitar work is driving and intense, yet more smoothly refined than anticipated. James Diers' cathartic vocals, however, remain firmly in the tradition, and listeners looking for a more accessible Sunny Day Real Estate should check this group out.
