Finally!!!

I am been waiting to see this on here forever! I am glad to see that all my complaints about its absence have paid off!

Absolutely splendid!

I doubt there will ever be a more beautiful tune than the main theme to this movie. I have admired it for years and am delighted to now be able to buy the entire CD on iTunes. Rachel Portman deserves a lifetime membership in the 'Soundtrack Composer's Hall of Fame' for writing this piece. Thank you, Rachel, for brightening my day every time I hear it.

simply gorgeous

The subtleness and simplicity in this orchestration let the melodies soar. It is warm without being sentimental and, for me at least, nurturing of quiet attentiveness. Living abroad now, I appreciate how the music is Americana at its very best--the winds, strings and piano conjuring images of a New England autumn that is alternately rich and sparse. Alongside Out of Africa it's at the top of my list for soundtracks.
