amazing

I saw this show last saturday...and wholy crap it was freaking amazing...the music and everything...loved it all...

Incredible Album, Cirques Best!

Every song on this album is fantastic (except LET ME FALL, they ruined it here). Time Flies is my favorite song on this album, it reminds me of Nina Simone, its very kinda "Oldie Remixed." One Love is also a fantastic song, I love the lyrics, its great. The only bad thing is that I bought the CD at Virgin last weekend, and now I can't get the 2 Bonus Tracks. But This is a recommended to anyone interested in Remix, World, Pop, and/or Dance music.

Hits and Misses

The show is wondrous, magical, and captivating no denying, yet the music doesn't hold its own. Coupled with dazzling performances the inadequecies of the music fail to come through. This is both a compliment to the fine visual artistry of Cirque as well as a analysis of the musical shortcomings. Before I venture into the review I would like to add that some of these numbers actually sounded far better live and this review of the CD doesn't accurately reflect the brilliance of the show. This album has a handful of must buys, a few for the die-hard fans only, and a few that without the razzle dazzle of cirque would've been better left out. "Cold Flame" is a brilliant start to the album, the vocals are superb and the lyrics, meaningful. The next song I'd reccomend is "Too High", still more great vocals and a strong driving beat. "Alone" might appease those with a taste for pop-tarts like Mandy Moore. "La Nova Allegria", "Bridge of Sorrow", "One Love", and "Time to Go" might all be considered the best song on this entire album. If you are purchasing singles, those are the ones to buy! There are a couple songs on here I wouldn't pitch ten cents to let alone ninety-nine. "Let Me Fall" is incredibly slow-paced and just boring. Lastly "Sans Toi" with its over abrasive vibrato throughout is one song you can do "sans" (without).

Cirque du Soleil revolutionized the circus arts, transcending the traditional big-top approach of the past to spotlight elaborate sets, lavish costumes and original music. Founded in Quebec in 1984 by Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier, the original group comprised local street performers; shunning animal acts to focus exclusively on human spectacles — stilt-walkers, jugglers, fire-eaters and the like — the troupe quickly earned a following throughout Canada, eventually spreading across...
