pretty awesome!

I am a Luscious Jackson fan and was so happy to discover this album! It is lush and dreamy... My favorites are warm sound, nyc boy, love is a luxury, future call and eye candy. There's a few cheesy ones mixed in too, but overall pretty great.

So good.

This is simply a sweet, beautiful album that sets out to drown the listener in lush, "Warm Sound". Good vibes. Cunniff has a gorgeous voice, and wonderful melodies are found throughout here. "Calling Me" is a breezy, lovely tune, and "Disconnection" featuring Emmylou Harris on backing vocals gently finishes out the album. You won't find the particular funk groove of Luscious Jackson much here, but, hey, this album is Cunniff's own thing.

A founding member of Luscious Jackson, Jill Cunniff was born and raised in New York City, where she met future bandmates Kate Schellenbach and Gabby Glaser at the punk clubs where they used to hang out. She taught herself how to play the guitar at age 14, and was playing in basement punk bands by the following year, including with future members of the Beastie Boys (who ended up releasing Luscious Jackson's albums on their Grand Royal label).
