Great Historical Collection
This is a terrific collection of Civil War era music. However, they do reflect the attitudes of the times. Most noticeably, "Kingdom Coming" is written in a stereotypical African-American dialect associated with Minstrel Shows. It is historical, but offensive to modern ears. Ironically, it has an anti-slavery message.
You Are There: Sound Recreation
Best Civil War period brass and good song selection from drinking songs to period parlor music.
