In 1997, the 20th anniversary of Marc Bolan's death, former bandmate Mickey Finn put together a loose aggregation of fellow ex-T. Rex-ers to play at one of the tribute concerts that were held that sad season. Fair enough. But it was difficult to shake the cynicism from your hair when a fresh version of that band then went out to greet the greatest-hits circuit with only two actual T. Rex veterans (Finn and latter-day sideman Paul Fenton) on board, and even harder to comprehend the group's continued existence once Finn, too, had passed away. Yet here they are, still going strong, a T. Rex tribute band in everything but name. Fifteen slabs of primal Bolan boogie roll across the disc, and maybe if you're really not paying attention, vocalist Rob Benson does pull off a passable impression of the late master.

This is NOT T.REX!!!!!

This album is an abomination to the memory of Marc Bolan & T.REX. This band is NOT T.REX!! They need to change their bastardized name ASAP! Itunes also needs to get the REAL Marc Bolan & T.REX extensive catalog on the USA version. The UK version has it all and more. Please, anyone who comes across this album, DO NOT buy anything from it thinking that you are getting the genuine T.REX article. This is a crap tribute band that needs to change its name in order to stop misleading Marc Bolan & T.REX fans and potential fans!

I was in high school when the ONLY T.REX hit the states they were great! This sorry band needs to stop making money off a great band. ANd I tunes should remove them from their store.

CAUTION: Listening Will Curdle Earwax

As far removed from sounding anything like T-Rex as could be possible. The ONLY saving grace is how the vocalist, Rob Benson, tries to emulate Marc Bolan's voice. This album's title totally misconstrues the term 'Celebration'. It should be titled 'Milking For Moolah' because that's all it really appears to be doing. Album should come with a warning listed on the cover - CAUTION: Listening will curdle earwax. I was inclined to agree with my fellow iTune review writers here and give it one 'hate it' star but I'd rather forget it than have it occupy anymore of my time. So, as soon as I hit the 'Submit' button... That is exactly what I intend to do; Forget it. You might consider doing the same. I'd rather listen to the real deal - 'Tanx' and 'Electric Warrior'. One might also want to give the double CD 'Born To Boogie' a listen if you'd like to hear more from the real Marc Bolan. It's the soundtrack from the documentary film directed by Ringo Starr and featuring Marc Bolan. Happy motoring! :)
