I love listening to Chaka Kahn, plus I love jazz standards, so I was expecting a great album like most of the reviews indicate. Unfortunately, Chaka resorts to screaming in the upper register, too often. In the old days, she could hit these notes with excitement and flair. On this record, the songs start great in her lower register, but when she steps it up, it is shrill. This should be an album you want to listen to over and over, but you can't.

Holy Mother of everything right with the world! How did I miss this one for over a month? A classic & classy diva singing classy classics WITH CLASS! Thank you i-Tunes for being more in touch with my musical tastes that I am myself. If this hadn't appeared in my 'recommendations', I'd have missed it - and I would be at a disadvantage for future survival. This is one to add to my "All-Time Best Ever-Ever" list. Let me swing you Chaka Khan!

This album is perfect! She sings all your favorite classic songs that you always thought she should sing! The Goldfinger track is amazing. I love her treatment of Big Spender! I want her to sing Jobim next.
