Good but not the best
I like V. K. Raman but for the best in Indian (bamboo) flute, I always prefer Hariprasad Chaurasia's albums. Especially his ragas like "Bairagi Bhairav" [equivalent of Revathi featured here], "Abhogi", "Malkauns", "Durga", "Kaunsi Kanada", "Manj Khamaj" etc., which are performed elaborately in Alap, Jod, Jhala (slow unfolding of raga) with long tracks. It really helps to know the name of Indian ragas instead of relying on phrases like "Bhairavi the King of Ragas" or "Wisdom of the Vedas". Each raga has its own character and mood.
Reminds me of the majesty and beauty of India
I can describe this recording with two words: Enchanting and elegant. It transports me to the precious times when I was in India. I have been waiting for a long time for a recording like this. Highly recommended!
Romantic and cool
The pristine sounds evoke images of beauty and calm, of Lord Krishna dancing with her Gopis enjoying and exhuberance of each other and nature. Romantic and cool, it fills the heart with emotion and divine longing.
