Powerful, distinct, and inspired—music that will "saturate your mind"
With bold lyrics and a strong, hopeful melody, Ari Herstand fearlessly confronts what many politicians circumvent in the interest of sidestepping ridicule and controversy. The song "Do Ask, Do Tell" is a refreshing, inspirational, and necessary step toward unconditional equality. Far from feeling condemned, you'll find solace in Ari's gentle, timeless reassurance that all you need is love. In "Vegas Is My Weakness," while on the surface a deceptively simple anecdote of one unlucky man's experience and retrospection, you'll hear a sentiment to which everyone can relate (blind impulse and its subsequent, inevitable regret) wrapped up in this unusual but astonishingly accurate case-in-point illustration. "Clean Up" finds our narrator quietly suffering in love while enduring life's little quirks in magnificent, glamorous detail. This EP is a true snapshot of Ari's talent which promises inspiring lyrics, breathtaking musical composition, and not to mention some fun beat-boxing.

I was introduced to Ari's music by a friend with great musical taste and met him for the first time around 2006. After quitting his job at Starbucks in 2008 and realizing he could support himself by music alone, he ventured to Los Angeles to further pursue his career. This EP is Ari's latest release since then. As of this writing, it's currently #11 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart - and it just came out earlier today! From the hook of the politically charged "Do Ask, Do Tell" to what could be the story of my life with "Vegas Is My Weakness", you can't pass it up! Great music from a great guy at a great price!

Ari Herstand's music is a rare mélange of honesty and positivity: two entities that never seem to interact quite enough. Lyrically and melodically, Herstand not only clearly believes in what he does, but makes the listener believe in it, as well. The Clean Up EP showcases the recent ventures of the artist, as well as leaving the listener thirsting for more (luckily his other albums can quench that). Music this artistically relevant should not be ignored.
