Great album for anyone that likes ska or punk
High School Football Heroes write a very catchy and groove worthy album with "Close Only Counts in Horsehouses and Hand Grenades." The album is very remisscent of early Less Than Jake, with a fierce punk undertone with varying blasts from the horn section. But the horns aren't used only as a ska gimmick. They add variety and transition in the songs to give them a fast, obvious third-wave ska feel. There are a few songs with great hooks, and enough rhythm to make any one want to dance. Best tracks: Beat of a Rhythmless Drum, 24:10, Subjects of Sin, A Failed Attempt to Make My Head Spin.
R.I.P. High School Football Heroes
This was an amazing album even though some people did not like it. It is sad to see that the band is broken up, but atleast they left us with a great album.
One of the best ska bands out there
From what ive heard form a lot of ska bands that havent had mainstream success they usually have terrible horns just randomly put into songs. With this band the horns actually go well with the songs. And to the review that said all the songs are short, a lot of ska songs are short. Look at catch 22 for example. This band is great and almost every song on this album is awesome.
