Closer to greatness
Absolutely love this new album!
An appropriate title
I've had the priviledge of knowing this artist personally for a few years now, and it is remarkable to see how far he has grown lyrically and musically. With each release he seems to stretch himself into new areas of artistic expression. At this rate, Mark Alexander could easily become one of music's great singer/songwriters in a matter of years. I recommend not only purchasing the album, but following this artist's career as well.
Very good album from a promising artist
Wow, I'm usually disappointed by the lack of insight or depth in a lot of music these days. This set is not groundbreaking, but it is quite refreshing to hear an album from someone who really has something to say, and says it with feeling and appealing arrangements. My favorites songs are Shallow, Come the Morning, Let the Curtain Fall, and Closer. This album is more consistent than Better Days (which is also a worthy purchase) and is overall a stronger effort. Excellent step in the artist's development. Highly recommended!
