For fans of gruff vocals and strong melody
This CD plays like your favorite T-shirt fits. It knows exactly where to hug and it knows where to lay off. Keying in on that distinct Gainesville sound, Anchor Arms has composed an indie-core masterpiece with Cold Blooded. For those of you in the Dakotas, the Gainesville sound consists of gruff vocals, minor keys, and pensive lyrics: it's a beautiful thing. And there's beauty in this little gem if you can stomach Jawbreaker demo tapes, PBR, and sleepless nights. Even if you hate all those things you should at least check out "Black Water," for a nice hook and chorus.

I actually feel very lucky that I've stumbled onto this band, cuz I was getting bored with rocking roll (get it?). I purchased this A.A. album & the other EP on Itunes as soon as I listened to the samples, instantly! I actually only heard of this band because of the Itunes "people who bought this also purchased..ya ya ya" function (BTW, the other band was Off With Their Heads, no one compares to those dudes). Well thank freakin' snot for that Itunes link, cuz I now, cannot stop listening to this band whatsoever. For someone like myself, who is sick of all the stupid recycled rock n roll that comes out lately, this album is TOP DRAWER! Yes, I said that. Can't wait for new stuff from these dudes already. I've also noticed that some great punk, rock, indie, underground...whatever you wanna call it, is coming out of FLA nowadays. I will be paying attention, and I don't even live anywhere near there! I just know something worth listening to when I hear it, this is it. Stay tuned for my rant on pop-punk from the early to mid 90's (Lookout Records-Weasels-Queers-MTX-and all that crap that got me thru high school!...J/K).
